To create the printed image from the ink housed in the cartridge and get it onto the paper, the printer employs an imaging creation technology called thermal inkjet. Ink is applied to the sheet of paper by using a heated element to expand the ink from a cartridge housing and into and through a number of fine printhead nozzles. When switched on by the printer processor, these heating elements heat up the ink nozzles to expands the ink into picolitre size droplets onto the paper. Print resolution is far superior to other types of printer technologies like laser and dot matrix impact.
